Though Sil Phata comes under the jurisdiction of the Thane Municipal Corporation, it has for its neighbours several parts of Navi Mumbai. The greenery in the area is part of the Parsik Hill. The Sil Phata-Mahape Road has been widened recently to allow swift passage of traffic from the congested points of the area. Proposal to extend the Metro till Kalyan includes a station at Sil Phata. New infrastructure

A flyover is being constructed on the Mahape-Sil Phata Road to ensure smooth vehicular transportation. The project is being undertaken by the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority, and is a part of the Rs 152-crore infrastructure projects of three flyovers that would make travelling from Thane to Navi Mumbai faster. Apart from this, the Maharashtra Cabinet has recently approved Rs 36.95 crore for the Bhiwandi-Kalyan-Sil Phata elevated project.
