A Peep Into Ranbir Kapoor's New Rs 35-Crore Abode

Quite often, the trajectory of their careers reflect in the size of Bollywood celebs' abodes. Actor Ranbir Kapoor made a statement in Mumbai's real estate world as he recently announced the purchase of his new home at Pali Hill for a whopping Rs 35 crore.

PropGuide lists some of the facts that you would like to know about Kapoor's new home:

• Price tag: The transaction works out to an eye-popping Rs 1.42 lakh per square feet -- the biggest per-square-foot rate recorded for a transaction in Mumbai suburbs. 

• Size: Lying on the seventh floor of Vastu Pali Hill, a recently constructed luxury building in its upmarket residential enclave, the apartment sprawls over 2,460 sq ft. 

• Stamp duty: Over and above the Rs 35 crore that he paid for the apartment, Kapoor shelled out Rs 1.75 crore as stamp duty and registration charges.

• Proximity to ancestral place: Barely a stone's throw from his ancestral bungalow, Krishna Raj, the Bollywood star's massive Pali Hill apartment in a 12-storey tower, has two parking lots. 

• The locality: Pali Hill has been one of the favourite residential destinations for the who's who of Bollywood. Among the Bollywood celebrities who call Pali Hill their home are Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Dilip Kumar, Prem Chopra and Gulzar.

• The neighbours: Kapoor's next-door neighbour in the new house will be South Indian actress, Nadhiya, also known as Zareena Moidu.

• Previous owner:  Kapoor has acquired the four-bedroom flat from Khyati Valia, who is on the board of directors of several real estate and financial services companies.
