Buying a property close to an airport is considered to be positive for both dwelling and investment purposes. This property could be a great deal for frequent travellers especially if the airport lies outside the city just like the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Lying over 40 kilometre away from the city centre, on an average it takes over an hour for a traveller to cover the distance. So, for frequent travellers in the Silicon Valley of India, living close to the airport is a better option. To cater to this demand, many localities have witnessed a rise in number of apartments available for homebuyers.

Devanahalli

Distance from airport: 5 kilometre

Devanahalli is one of the localities in Bengaluru that are closest to the airport. A well-developed neighbourhood with ample social amenities, Devanahalli has IT and business parks located in the vicinity. It is linked via the National Highway-7 (NH-7) and also has easy access to K R Puram, Nehru Nagar and Hebbal and the Outer Ring Road.

Yelahanka

Distance from airport: 19.5 kilometre

A well-planned township with connectivity to the NH-7 and the NH-9, Yelahanka offers all the modern social infrastructural facilities. The locality also is well-connected with other parts of the city via bus and Metro connectivity.

Bagaluru

Distance from airport: 21 kilometre

Popular for the 980-acre Aerospace Park, Bagaluru near Yelahanka is situated on the Hennur-Bagalur Road and enjoys good road and rail connectivity. Situated 25.5 kilometres to the south of Bengaluru, Bagaluru is accessible from the airport via the Kempegowda International Airport Road and the State Highway-104.

Jakkur

Distance from airport: 26 kilometre

Known for housing the Jakkur Aerodrome, the locality has emerged as a destination for high-end living with plenty of residential plots, apartments as well as luxury villas. The neighborhood has business and technology parks as well as prominent localities such as Nehru Nagar, Dasarahalli and RK Hegde Nagar. There is an easy access to the Metro and state road transport. 

As many as 138 residential projects have been launched in Jakkur out of which 117 are in ready-to-move-in stage and 16 are under-construction projects. The average price is slightly higher compared to other listed localities at Rs 5,200 psf.
