Realty Byte: The Homes Salman Khan Loves
Salman Khan was recently found guilty of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case. But, the Bombay High Court suspended his prison sentence till the hearing of his appeal in July 2015. The Bollywood actor’s humanitarian activities through his NGO “Being Human” are well-known. Though the victims in the hit-and-run case are still waiting for restitution, through “Being Human” Salman has supported three schools and facilitated the heart surgery of more than 600 children. Salman Khan’s investments in real estate and upcoming properties in Mumbai are noteworthy too. There were reports that he would be building a preview theatre and a shopping complex in Bandra.
Let us take a look into the properties that Salman Khan owns.
Galaxy Apartments: Salman Khan lives in a 1BHK flat below the flat of his father in in Galaxy Apartments in Bandstand, in the suburb of Bandra in Mumbai. His flat has an “L” shaped living-cum-dining room, a 190 sq.ft. bedroom, one bathroom and a small open kitchen. Though Salman and his family does not live here currently, he lived in this flat for 40 years. His family moved out because their apartments were getting a facelift after cracks appeared in the building. Salman Khan once said that he vacated the flat because there was not enough space for his shoes, clothes and other accessories. Though the residential complex is located in a posh locality and is well-connected to other parts of Mumbai, Galaxy Apartments is a simple eight-storey building.
Panvel Farmhouse: Salman Khan has a 150-acre farmhouse, where he breeds horses, in Panvel in Raigad district in Maharashtra. He shelters dogs and other domestic animals in his farmhouse. He celebrated his 49th birthday here. Salman decided to breed horses in his farmhouse after he met actor Randeep Hooda, who owns horses and his own Polo sports team. The farmhouse also has three Bungalows, gymnasiums and a swimming pool.
Gateway Apartment: Salman Khan lives with his parents and siblings in Gateway Apartment in Bandra, an ultra-luxury residence near Shahrukh Khan’s house Mannat. The luxury apartment in Mumbai is estimated to be worth over Rs. 110 crore. Salman Khan preferred to buy this home -- and not a bungalow -- because he prefers to live in an apartment complex.
Salman Khan had also purchased three new apartments in Sagar Reshma, a 28-storey building in Bandra. As a wedding gift, he had given a 3BHK flat to his sister, Arpita Khan. Salman Khan also had plans to invest in upcoming properties in Dubai.
