The Union Housing Ministry has commissioned a study by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur on testing new construction methods to promoting new housing technologies, news agency PTI reported.
A proposal in this regard has been made by IIT Kanpur, which has been approved and the ministry will support the study with a financial assistance of Rs 31.34 lakh, the report added.
This comes after the implementation of Housing for All by 2022 project under which 20 million new houses are to be built in urban areas for economically weaker sections (EWS) and low income groups. Read more 

Realty firm Raheja Developers has launched a housing project in Sohna, Gurgaon, at a price of Rs 2,500 per sq ft, about 30-35 per cent lower than the existing rate in the location to boost the sluggish sales, news agency PTI reported.

Raheja Developers said in a statement that it would develop 114 independent floors in this project, which is part of the 200-acre township 'Aranya City' in Sohna, South of Gurgaon. Read more 

The Bombay high court (HC) on has allowed developer Niranjan Hiranandani's group companies to sell 207 large unsold flats built before 2008 and register deals for 22 homes already sold in Powai, ETRealty reported. In December 2008, while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed against the Hiranandani project in Powai for violations to a tripartite agreement, the HC had allowed construction of flats to go on, but barred him from selling amalgamated flats, the report added. The anticipatory bail applications filed by four corporators, who are currently under the police scanner, for the suicide of builder Suraj Parmar has been rejected by the Thane Sessions Court, the Indian Express reported. Parmar had shot himself and had left behind a 13-page suicide note, in which he had mentioned some names who propelled him to take the extreme step. Read more

The Janakpuri (west) to Botanical Garden metro line, which will have two stations in Noida, will be completed by December 2016-January 2017, reports The Times Of India. It was earlier scheduled to be complete by July 2017 on the Noida end. Read more
