The government is developing a comprehensive 25-year masterplan for airports in the country to keep pace with air traffic growth. The masterplan will delve into the need for multiple airports in cities, revised and refined agreements with airport operators, providing attractive opportunities for operating existing airports, offering multiple existing airports as part of a package for bidding as well as scaling up the Airports Authority of India.

Soon the old Kolkata Metro trains will be replaced with China-made rakes. Imported at a cost of Rs 7.1 lakh per coach from the China Railway Rolling Stock, the city would get 14 trains with a total of 112 coaches. The coaches would be fitted with 30-tonne air conditioners, instead of the existing 22-tonne machines.

The Kerala government has identified more than 58,000 incomplete houses in the state while implementing LIFE housing mission. While Kozhikode has the highest number of incomplete houses (8,121), the Ernakulam district recorded the least number of incomplete houses (1,251). The capital district is home to 6,479 incomplete houses.

One of the leading real estate developers Brigade Group is planning to invest Rs 3,000 crore over the next three years to expand its commercial property portfolio by 8 million sq ft. The Bengaluru-based property developer has office projects spread over 12 million sq ft at present. A top executive said the group will be building the assets mainly in southern India.
