#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Construction Of Mumbai’s Coastal Road To Begin In September

Work on the Rs 15,000-crore Coastal Road project is expected to start in September this year. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has selected contractors that will build two parts of this 9.98-km road that will run from Marine Drive to Worli along the city’s west coast.

Delhi’s Income Tax Department has unearthed over Rs 215 crore unaccounted money from the multiple raids it carried out at the premises of two real estate developers between May 19 and 20. The department conducted searches at 33 sites belonging to the two developers.

India may have seen improvements in healthcare access and quality since 1990. However, its no-so-well-of neighbours are doing much better than it. In a Lancet study, the country has been ranked 145 among 195 countries in terms of quality and accessibility of healthcare. India lags behind China (48), Sri Lanka (71), Bangladesh ( 133) and Bhutan (134) while its health index was better than Nepal (149), Pakistan (154) and Afghanistan (191).

The government’s ambitious project, Sagarmala, is facing challenges in timely investment mobilisation and budgetary support, the domestic rating agency Icra said. However, according to Icra, the Rs 8-lakh-crore shipping and ports initiative, aimed at expanding the coastal and inland waterways, is expected to benefit the sector.
