The quality of air in India’s national capital Delhi is the worst in the world, reveals a report by the World health Organization (WHO) released on May 2. It is the heavy presence of PM10 -- particulate matter that is 10 micrometers or less in diameter----that has led to Delhi earning this dubious distinction among mega cities that have a population of 14 million and above. Mumbai, too, is lying on the fourth spot in this list, with PM10 levels shitting 104 mpcm in 2016.

The target for the sanctioning of the construction of affordable housing under the Housing for All by 2022 scheme would be achieved by mid-2019, said Housing MinisterHardeep Singh Puri. He also said that the government had sanctioned the construction of about 4.5 million units so far while the total number of houses to be sanctioned under the scheme was 11 million. The government was every sanctioning up to 3-5 lakh units every month, added Puri.

Insolvency-hit Jaypee Infratech is all set to close a deal with the Sudhir Valia group after signing the outline of a resolution plan proposed by the bidder.
The bidder has suggested in the resolution plan that the liability for delayed delivery of apartments and villas in a mega real estate project in Noida should be borne by Jaiprakash Associates, the original promoters of the company. Of the around Rs 6,000-crore project cost, Rs 3,510 crore would be pumped in by Valia group.
