After the review of the status of Smart Cities Mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged states to focus on public-private-partnership-based smart city projects that can show results in next one year. Following the directive, the housing and urban affairs ministry has identified 261 impactful and PPP projects worth Rs 31,000 crore and Rs 32,000 crore, respectively, the states can focus on.

The three leading hotels in Delhi's Lutyen's zone -- Hotel Connaught, Asian Hotel and Taj Mansingh – will soon be up for e-auction as the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) plans to invite bids. The move comes nearly six months after the civic body had given a go-ahead for auctioning it. The e-auction will be conducted through MSTC Ltd, a central public sector unit while SBI Capital Market Limited will be the transaction advisor for the auction.
