#RealtyNewsRoundup: Homebuyer Seeking Cancellation Of Delayed Flat Won’t Lose Money, Says NCDRC

The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) on June 3 said that a homebuyer seeking cancellation of a delayed flat cannot be forfeited any amount by the developer. The NCDRC was hearing a case by a homebuyer who had invested in a Supertech project delayed by over two years now. The commission directed Supertech to refund the entire amount of Rs 1 crore to the aggrieved homebuyer.
Meanwhile, the commission also directed real estate developer Shubhkamna Buildwell & Estates to refund money to all the buyers who had invested in its Greater Noida project. No substantial work has started on the project since its launch four years ago.

The Ghaziabad Development Authority is expected to start giving possession of over 1,380 homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) starting July 2020. According to the authority, these apartments are located at Dasna and Madhuban Bapudham and are in various stages of construction.

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has planned to utilise vacant plots located in four private colonies, including Palam Vihar, Sushant Lok 1, South City 1 and Nirvana Country for infrastructural projects. The civic authority has not received the cost for outstanding civic work from the builders of these colonies, Unitech and Ansal API, as part of their takeover, for its own purposes.

The Delhi High Court has ordered Ansal Properties and Infrastructure to deposit Rs 46 crore by July 31. This is ruling came after Landmark Property Development and Company moved the court seeking execution of a Rs 165-crore award that it won in arbitration last September.
