#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Homebuyers In Pune Can Register Properties Through Aadhaar Verification From February

From February, homebuyers in Maharashtra will be able to register their properties using their Aadhaar card, without having to bother about witnesses. The state department of registration and stamps issued a notification last week in this regard, allowing verified Aadhaar credentials for property deals from next month. Maharashtra would be the first state in the country to allow Aadhaar verification for property registration, said an official of the department.

Meanwhile, the Mohali district has registered 1,063 properties online with the revenue department. The system was launched on January 8 as a pilot project in Mohali.

India has emerged as the fifth most attractive market for investments and the optimism over global economic growth is at a record level, says a survey of chief executive officers by global consultancy PwC. While the top position is occupied by the US, China has secured the second place in the list. On the third and fourth positions are Germany and the UK, respectively. The “definitive structural reforms” have helped India securing its position as the fifth most attractive market in 2018, pipping Japan, says the survey.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told 40 CEOs at the WEF meet that India meant business and presented exciting opportunity for the global businesses.

Under a new project funded by the Centre, over a lakh conventional street lights would be upgraded with LEDs in east Delhi. The cash-strapped civic body, however, will have to incur no costs for the project. One lakh incandescent streetlights and 2,800 semi-high mast lights will be converted into LED lights over a period of nine months, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) Commissioner Ranbir Singh said.

Nearly 80 units in markets falling in north Delhi, and upper floors and basements of 38 properties in a south Delhi market were sealed for alleged violation of civic norms on January 22. The action by the north and south Delhi municipal corporations were initiated by a Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee. Meanwhile, a group of traders under the umbrella of the Confederation of All India Traders has called for a bandh on January 23 to protests the ongoing sealing of business establishments in the national capital.
