A developer does not require permission to demolish additional floors of a highrise to comply with height restrictions, the Bombay High Court has said. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will soon appoint a consultant to help the agency create a single-window portal for those applying to develop their holdings under the land pooling policy. The portal will be a one-stop destination for all processes, including receiving applications, verifications, grant of approvals and licences, etc., in a time-bound manner. The portal would be the only mechanism through which applications for land pooling would be received.

Norms regarding space between two high-rises are proposed to be diluted for the Rs 26,000-crore Dharavi Redevelopment Project in Mumbai. With Dharavi located in the Mumbai airport’s funnel zone, there are restrictions on how tall buildings can be. To ensure that this does not impact the project’s viability, the housing department has sought relaxations in norms regarding distance mandated between two buildings.
