Illegal property holders and land encroachers in Uttar Pradesh will have to pay penalty and expenses incurred by the government in clearing the area. Salaries of the staff involved in the exercise and the rent of machines used in the anti-encroachment drive would be paid using the penalty money, officials said on December 3.

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has introduced a standard operating procedure (SOP) to deal with complaints regarding unregistered projects. The informant can now submit the details about such projects on the MahaRERA website under the non-registration tab, and request a hearing.

The chairman and three directors of Noida-based Premia Projects were on December 3 booked for cheating buyers of its Noida Extension-based project, Premia Corporate City. On the same day, three directors of Mumbai-based Shree Siddhivinayak Builders were booked for cheating 20 homebuyers, who booked flats at its residential project in Panvel.

The Delhi Development Authority plans to sell its vacant properties to other government agencies. Around 6,500 single-room housing units are on offer, for which the draw will be held on January 15. These units were surrendered by people who were allotted homes in 2014 and 2017 housing schemes.
