#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Maharashtra Plans To Bring SRA, MHADA Under RERA

The Maharashtra government has approached the Centre, asking it to amend the real estate law so that the state may include projects of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority and the MHADA under the purview of the state's Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The move is aimed at checking inordinate delays and facilitating hassle-free delivery of homes to the beneficiaries.

Three directors of real estate company 3C Developers were arrested by the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) last week for allegedly diverting Rs 191 crore invested by homesbuyers into its other projects. A case has also been registered against the accused for not delivering a housing project named Lotus 300 in Noida Sector 107.

Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the newly-constructed Kannur International Airport (KIA) on December 9. The airport, to be operated by Kannur International Airport Ltd, is spread over 2,330 acres of land, with a runway length of 3,050 metres. It is expected to serve more than one million passengers annually initially.

Offices of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) will facilitate online system for approving building plans and certificates for flats or sites at its own cost. The BDA has also started the process of providing possession certificates to property owners online. This certificate is handed over to the property owner after full payment for the site or flat is made.
