The Maharashtra government is planning to develop another integrated city in Raigad, near Navi Mumbai. A notification in this regard was issued earlier this month. Lying around 100 km away from Navi Mumbai, the proposed integrated industrial city, at 19,147 hectare, would be slightly bigger than its old counterpart.

In order to counter the growing instances of illegal occupation, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) plans to use drones and satellite images to monitor its vacant plots. The development body would also reward its employees, who help it curb illegal occupation on its properties.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will launch three new town planning schemes in the city, two in Phursungi and one in Uruli Devachi. Under the schemes, which have yet to receive a final approval, the PMC will acquire land from owners, develop it and return it to them. The state will bear the cost of the land.

Residents living in high-rises of Mangaluru would lose supply if they fail to pay their water bills for the third month in a row. The Karnataka government is planning to launch a pilot project in the city, under which it would install smart water meters in the city’s high-rises, commercial as well as residential. Smart meters will ensure supply to those residents who fail to pay their water bill automatically stops after three months.
