The Bombay High Court (HC) has asked the Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (Mhada) to respond after a public interest litigation was filed in the court against the agency’s move to sell 1,384 flats in Mumbai. The petitioner states that these flats must be allotted only to people who have been affected by the various state-led infrastructure development and redevelopment projects. The Mhada invited application for the sale of these units through an advertisement in November last year.

After January 31, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram will stop collecting waste that is not segregated at source. In the meantime, the corporation is educating residents to segregate waste into dry and wet categories and dispose it accordingly.

Mumbai-based developer Am Estates has been told by the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) to refund Rs 1.04 crore to two homebuyers for delay in providing possession of units at its Le Reve project. The builder will have to provide the refund amount within 30 days to the buyer who booked homes in 2013.

In a move that would provide boost to city real estate, Chennai Guindy is set to get a new information technology (IT) park. To be built on six-and-a-half acres of land, the tech park would be similar to the Olympia Techpark in the city, and will generate 12,000 jobs. The estimated cost of the project could be as much as Rs 1,000 crore.
