#RealtyNewsRoundUp: MHADA Shortlists 16 Developers For Dharavi Redevelopment Project

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has shortlisted 16 real estate developers in the pre-bidding stage of the Dharavi redevelopment project. Under the project, the authority aims to redevelop 240 hectares in Dharavi by constructing more than 1,00,000 houses. A majority of these houses will be in the affordable segment, thereby rehabilitating more than 58,000 people. Read more
A four-member team of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation visited Bhubaneshwar to understand the plan its municipal corporation has put in place to develop the smart city. The 985-acre smart district in the city will make the urban transport network modern, intelligent and efficient. The Delhi Development Authority has fixed the rates of land to calculate leasehold-to-freehold conversion charges for commercial and industrial properties in the nationa capital. According to a statement released by the DDA, the rates will be Rs 1,12,050 (rates in Rs/sqm for 100 FAR) for South-Central and Dwarka Zones; Rs 77, 815 for West, North East and Rohini Zones; and Rs 31,120 for Narela Zone, for commercial properties. For industrial properties, the rates will be Rs 67,232 for South-Central and Dwarka Zones; Rs 46,690 for West, North East and Rohini Zones; and Rs 23,346 for Narela Zone. Read more
The Maharashtra government announced recently that buildings with unauthorised layouts will not be given water and electricity supply. This will be applicable to all the structures coming up after January 1 this year. The government also plans to penalize developers with a jail term if they construct unauthorised buildings. Reports suggest that nearly 2.5 million people across the state will benefit from this move. Read more
