#RealtyNewsRoundUp: More Cities May Come Under NCR Fold
Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri recently told the Lok Sabha that the Centre was considering a proposal by the that Uttar Pradesh government to include Mathura, Saharanpur, Aligarh and Bijnor in the National Capital Region (NCR). Similarly, Rajasthan has also sent a request to the government to include Jhunjhunu in the fold of the NCR. Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district was the last to be included in the NCR in December last year, taking the total number of districts in the region to 23.

The Supreme Court on March 21 asked embattled realtor Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) to deposit Rs 200 crore in two installments by May 10. The SC asked the real estate major to deposit Rs 100 crore by April 6 and the remaining amount by May 10. The apex court has also asked the company not to send EMI (equated monthly installment) default notices to homebuyers, who have opted for refund.

The Supreme Court has lifted the stay on construction of new buildings in Greater Mumbai for six months, albeit with some conditions. For instance, builders going ahead with building plans have to make sure construction debris does not reach the Deonar and Mulund dumping grounds.
Worried over the city’s saturated landfills, the Bombay High Court had in March 2016 imposed the construction ban. It a related development, the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI) has identified 10 new dumping sites at Ulwe, Vahal, JNPT SEZ, Pushpak Node, Aarey Colony, Aarey Picnic Point, Village Kalher, Bhiwandi, Mhape, Ambernath and Bambavle.

At least 12,000 residential properties in 45 refugee colonies across Delhi are likely to face sealing this month over alleged violations of land use, say media reports. The monitoring committee appointed by the Supreme Court has identified these properties in colonies such as Kalkaji, Jangpura, Lajpat Nagar, Old Rajendra Nagar, Mukherjee Nagar, Subhash Nagar and Tilak Nagar.
