#RealtyNewsRoundUp: 'Navi Mumbai Airport May Take 5 Years To Be Operational'

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha has said his ministry will try to enhance the capacity of the congested Mumbai airport in medium-term, as the Navi Mumbai Airport could take "four-to-five years" to become operational. Implementing agency City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco), on the other hand, says the first phase of the new airport would be operational by 2021.

The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation recently conducted a stakeholders' consultation meeting on the proposed Phase-II of the Nagpur Metro. According to media reports, the detailed project report for Phase-II corridors is in an advanced stage of completion, and it will include corridors in all directions with a total length of about 48 kilometre and 33 stations. The estimated cost of construction is Rs 110,000 crore.

Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri has told Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar that Gurgaon would be considered for inclusion in the smart city list. The minister said an apex body would be constituted to look into the matter.

Works pertaining to water supply and electricity for houses being construed in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits under the Telangana government's two-bedroom housing scheme are expected to be completed in six months. The decision to prioritise work for the scheme was taken at the convergence meeting held at the GHMC head office earlier.
