Peeved over delay in possession of flats, a section of buyers in Noida and Greater Noida have started a unique initiative pledging to go for NOTA (none of the above) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. After forming the Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association (NEFOMA), the buyers have launched the no-home-no-vote drive to express their angst against project delays. Noida and Greater Noida are part of the Gautam Buddh Nagar Parliamentary constituency, which has over 22.5 lakh votes.

With the Supreme Court setting aside an order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that expanded the buffer zones around Bengaluru’s lakes and other water bodies, residents of over 35,000 housing units will now be able to get an occupancy certificate for their homes. In 2016, the NGT ruled that the width of the buffer zone increased from 30 meter to 75 metre.
