#RealtyNewsRoundUp: PM In Maharashtra Inaugurates Rs 41,000-Cr Infra Projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on December 18 launch infrastructure and housing projects worth about Rs 41,000 crore in Maharashtra. This includes laying of the foundation stone for the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Line and the Dahisar-Mira Bhayander Line of the Mumbai Metro, and the Kalyan and Hinjewadi- Shivajinagar Line of the Pune Metro. Modi will also launch CIDCO’s mass housing scheme worth Rs 18,000 crore today.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has decided to announce the lottery for 5,000 houses at Kalyan’s Khoni and Shirdhon. All the flats will be provided to the applicants from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Over a decade after the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) launched the self-financing housing scheme for the employees of the Union Territory government, it has now approached the Union Cabinet to get a final approval for the scheme. The CHB Self-Financing Housing Scheme 2008 was launched in February that year. However, the scheme could not really take off owing to land-acquisition issues, with the Centre expressing its inability to provide land for the project.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is planning a mega auction to sell about 500 residential, commercial, industrial and institutional plots, lying vacant in different parts of the national capital. Of these, 145 plots are for residential use and are spread across localities of Narela and Rohini.
