The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban is believed to have generated employment for over six crore people in the country, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has told the Lok Sabha. Citing a report, the minister said that 2.65 new jobs were created in the economy for every Rs 1 lakh invested in the housing sector.

Maharashtra is planning to develop a business district with IT parks, recreational zones and affordable housing along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Planned by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, the new central business district will have financial and technological centres, animation, visual effects and gaming centres and a comic park.

The Karnataka government is planning to build at least 30 new flyovers/underpasses at an expense of Rs 9,200 crore to improve traffic conditions in state capital Bengaluru. The plan to build flyovers will be executed in 24 to 30 months, and is expected to be approved in next Cabinet meeting.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has has given an in-principle nod to a 95-km railway line between Panipat and Palwal which will run through Rohtak, Jhajjar, Farrukhnagar, Manesar and Sohna. The project will be developed by Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation, a joint venture of the Haryana government and the railways ministry. The new track will run along the Western Peripheral Expressway. While a rail network already exists between Panipat and Jhajjar, around 95 km of it will have to be laid between Jhajjar and Palwal.
