In what could be termed as a major reformatory step in the real estate sector, the Gurgaon administration has capped registration charges for properties in licensed colonies at Rs 15,000. In a notification issued on April 2, the Gurgaon district town planner has ruled that real estate developers in the city could charge Rs 15,000 from homebuyers towards the administrative registration of flats.

The Delhi government's plans to add 1,000 electric buses to its fleet may not work out as the national capital does not have the requisite infrastructure to manage it, say experts. The Centre has committed a sum of Rs 2,070 crore for the development of 31 cities in Gujarat under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) mission. Among the 31 cities included in the list are Ahmedabad, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Godhra, Porbandar, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara. The Centre had committed financial assistance of Rs 35,989.70 crore for development of 500 cities nationwide under the AMRUT mission.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has increased the financial limit for according administrative approval for estimates of developmental works from Rs 8,100 to Rs 11,500 in urban local bodies in the state. According to an official release, the commissioner of a municipal corporation will now have the power to accord administrative approval to estimates of up to Rs 1 crore, instead of Rs 50 lakh earlier. Similarly, the municipal corporation would have the power to accord administrative approval to the estimates of above Rs 1 crore to Rs 2.50 crore, instead of Rs 1 crore earlier.
