There may be an end in sight to the long struggle of 5,000 Noida homebuyers who had invested in residential projects in Sector 107 five years ago but found the projects stalled as Noida's land acquisition was challenged in court. The trust, which had challenged the acquisition of 225 hectares of land in Sallarpur village in Sector 107, has agreed to a settlement if farmers are paid an increased compensation of 64.7 per cent and given alternative land. In a rare deal in the real estate space, Bengaluru-based SNN Builders has acquired Essar's under construction Water's Edge residential project in Bangalore for Rs 490 crore. The deal gains significance as Essar, a Shashi and Ravi Ruia-owned company, aims to move away from its non-core businesses. Travel services provider Thomas Cook (India) has entered into a partnership with online budget hotels aggregator, Vista Rooms, for providing standardised accommodation experience. This includes over 800 properties across 90 locations pan India, Thomas Cook India said in a BSE filing. The partnership will provide customers online booking options via thomascook.in covering standalone accommodation, and as inclusions in the company's holiday packages. Read more
