Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), in a latest development, has revived the proposal of the high-speed Metro link project between Greater Noida and the proposed Jewar airport. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will soon be submitting a report to YEIDA on the project feasibility and the costs involved.
Now moving to Hyderabad. Projects worth Rs 3,000 crore or more are facing a delay over fire NoCs (No-Objection Certificates) in the city after the fire department denied provisional certificates over violation of National Building Code. According to the fire department, it is mandatory to have open space of 11 metres for stepped-type of buildings with more than five floors, the developers argue that for a building proposed for 15 floors, maintaining nine-metre all round open space from ground level, is sufficient. Following this developers have approached High court seeking directions from the court for releasing provisional NOC for their stalled projects.
The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), to assess the efficiency of sewage treatment plants, will soon begin the inspection of 159 apartment complexes and other commercial establishments in the Bellandur lake catchment area. The inspection comes after the National Green Tribunal gave authorities a month to take bring down the pollution levels of the 919-acre lake.
LIC Housing Finance recently announced results of the fourth quarter of the financial year 2016-17. It reported an increase of 18 per cent in net profit closing at Rs 529.19 crore. In the same period, the company's total income went up by 12 per cent to Rs 3,662 crore while revenue from operations grew 12 per cent to Rs 3,643 crore.
