#RealtyRoundup: 45 Cities Participate In Smart City Challenge

In the third round of selection for cities that will be developed as smart cities, a total of 45 cities are participating. Of these, 40 lucky ones will be selected by the Centre to be developed in future. The names of 40 new cities, expected to be announced by June-end, will take the total smart cities count to 100.
The Maharashtra government wants its departments to disclose information about their land bank and its worth. The state plans to mortgage this land bank with financial institutions to raise money at lower interest rates.
In a major setback to the investors of Tata Camelot Housing project, the Delhi High Court held that the project could not be allowed to take off as it was well within the catchment area of the Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh. It also set aside the environmental clearances given by the authorities for the project.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Area (YEIDA) authority has said that it has cancelled the building plan of a residential project initiated by Jaypee Infratech in 2013. The plan was cancelled after it was found out that the developer had not addressed some objections raised by the authority on the building plan in 2014.
