Provisions of the real estate regulatory law were applicable to three apartments booked on a 999-year agreement to lease in Lavasa, near Pune, and for which 80 per cent of "purchase price" had been paid, the Bombay High Court ruled. It added that complaints for compensation for a delay of six to seven years in possession of these apartments could be decided by the adjudication officer under the MahaRera, the state's real estate regulatory authority.

The Noida Authority has issued a list of 1,757 unauthorised structures in different parts of the city and also demolished 10 such buildings. A survey has found that while 56 structures are in a dilapidated condition, 114 structures have come up on notified land, 261 buildings are on acquired land, and there are 1,326 unauthorised buildings in different villages.

Spending a weekend in Europe's 10 most popular cities during the summer could have the same health impact as smoking one to four cigarettes a day, according to a study by Transport & Environment (T&E), a non-government organisation. Emissions from cars are the main source of particulate matter in the 10 cities during the summer. Cities included in the list are London, Paris, Istanbul, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan, Rome, Vienna, Prague and Dublin.
