Kanakapura is a town situated 55 kilometers from Bangalore and 27 kilometers from Ramanagar. It is strategically located in South on the National Highway 209 and is famous for silk and granite production. Kanakapura Road is a part of the NH 209 which connects Kanakapura town to Bangalore. A metro rail route is also under construction and will be operational by the end of 2014. It is expected to connect up to Puttenhalli on Kanakapura Road and the extension up to NICE Road.
