Perungalathur is a suburb located in south-west Chennai and comes under panchayat town in the Kancheepuram district. The name Perungalathur is derived from Lake, which means “A place with the Big Lake”. The area is located between Tambaram and Vandalur on the NH 45 highway and lies close to Kamaraja Nagar, Sadananthapuram, Nedugundram, Srinivasa Nagar and Peerkankaranai.
