Urapakkam is one of the fastest growing towns among the southern suburbs of Chennai. It is located in Kancheepuram district and is situated between Guduvancheri and Vandalur. Urapakkam is strategically located on the Road (NH 45) which makes it easily accessible to major locations like Tambaram, Medavakkam, Oragadam, OMR, Mahindra City, Sriperumbudur etc. Other roads that connects this town to other places in the city are - Road, Oragadam- Road and Outer Ring Road. Upcoming Rail Over Bridge and the Phase I of proposed Monorail Corridor is expected to improve the connectivity the region. Popular cities like Tambaram and Chengalpattu are situated around 8 and 21kms respectively. When it comes to rail and airports the Chennai railway station is at 4kms and the International airport being at 17 kms.
