The locality is part of the Metropolitan Development Authority in West Bengal. The area has witnessed huge development over the last few years and several developers are boosting the real estate in Barrackpore. Areas like Dum Dum, Kharda, Sodepur, Agarpara, Ichapur, Naihati and even Ballygunge, Park Circus, Bidhannagar and Alipore are linked to the locality through the railway network.
