Dumas is located towards the southwest of Surat in Gujarat. It is around 21 kilometres from the centre of the city. The area is known for its pristine beach, along the Arabian Sea, and is a popular tourist destination. Along the beach, is located the temple of Dariya Ganesh.

Dumas is situated around 16 kilometres towards the southern end of Athwa Gate. For reaching Dumas from the Surat Railway Station, one can travel along the Ring Road and follow the directions to Athwa Gate. Areas that surround Dumas are Parsoli, Pal Gam, Athwa, Adajan, Magdalla, Bhimrad and Althan.
